I designed and developed a Wordpress website for Tania Spencer. The most important goal to achieve in this project was the creation of a website that can be used by the artist herself, including updating the web gallery as well as text content.
As Wordpress is quite easy to use from a text perspective, it took me some time to find an “easy” image system that Tania can use herself, without getting in too much technical trouble. I decided to plugin nextGen gallery. The upload and manage feature is second to none. For a nice display of thumbnails on the index.php I used the excerpt plugin by Radu Capan ( thanks by the way). Of course I couldn’t resist to include some Jquery as well. I used a nice Scroll-To-Top plugin by Ariel Flesler to make the otherwise harsh back to top click rather a breeze. In addition to make the sidebar a bit more “graspy” I included a slideshow widget “Gallery Widget Pro”.
